When placing central venous catheters, PICCs, midline catheters, and fully implantable vascular access (infusion ports), you must comply with the maximum sterile barrier requirements, wear a working round hat, a medical surgical mask, perform hand hygiene according to the relevant requirements of the ‘Code of Practice for Hand Hygiene for Medical Personnel’, and wear sterile gloves, sterile surgical gowns or sterile isolation gowns, and lay out a large sterile sheet covering the entire body of the patient.
